Nick Ortner interviews Dr. Lissa Rankin – YouTube

Are you aware of how stress is affecting your life?

In our modern culture we tend to wear stress as a badge of honor. We simply say things like “Of course I’m stressed, who isn’t?” Stress tends to be connected with “working hard” and “being productive.” From work, to kids, to financial pressure, to physical challenges and emotional baggage…it’s no wonder we’re all so stressed out.

Dr. Lissa Rankin, M.D., author of the NY Times bestselling book “Mind Over Medicine” is an expert on the subject of stress. She herself left her traditional medical practice because of being overworked, stressed out, sick, and simply unwilling to keep up with the demanding hours expected as a doctor.

After leaving her traditional practice she joined a “cash basis” practice in a health conscious community, thinking that by spending more time with her patients she would see better results for both her clients and herself.

What she found in her supposedly “health conscious” community shocked her and led her to realize that for most people…

If you think you’re doing everything right…think again. Dr. Rankin’s most health conscious patients “Were doing everything right…but they were some of the sickest people I’d ever met.”

Her clients were the type most would think were healthy. They ate well, exercised, meditated, and overall lived a “healthy” lifestyle.

But what she came to realize…is that they were all stressed out. Just eating well, exercising and doing mind-body practices like meditation alone won’t keep you healthy if your stress levels are consistently elevated.

You see, our bodies are always being run by one of two nervous systems modes, either sympathetic or para-sympathetic. And although our bodies have natural self-repair mechanisms to deal with cancer cells, pathogens, bacteria, viruses and much more…these mechanisms ONLY work when our body is in the para-sympathetic mode…the relaxation response.

As Dr. Rankin discovered in working with her patients…

“You have to address the things in your life that are triggering the stress response to begin with…and EFT Tapping has been proven to activate the relaxation response which in turn activates the self-healing mechanisms.”

As Dr. Rankin shares… “What I love about Tapping is that it gets to the root of the limiting beliefs, that create the thoughts, that trigger the amygdala and the stress response to begin with.”

It’s critically important to address the beliefs like “I’m not worthy,” or “The world isn’t a safe place” or whatever the belief might be for you that is causing the thoughts that are triggering stress in your mind and body.

When you use EFT Tapping to get at the core of the issues, you stop the cycle of beliefs and thoughts that lead to stress and in turn to the self-repair mechanisms being shut off. This is why EFT Tapping is so extremely powerful in creating lasting health…

In this video Dr. Lissa Rankin, M.D. will share with you just how dangerous stress is to your health, what you can do to consistently activate the relaxation response today, and how you can use EFT Tapping to create long-lasting healing and balance….

Get ready for an eye-opening video that is going to have you rethinking just how important it is for you to release stress from your life. The research and science that Dr. Rankin will share with you will blow away your beliefs about the dangers of stress and the effects they’re having on your life.

If you want to discover how to create lasting, long-term, stress-free health…this video will show you the way…

What Rev. Malkmus Has Eaten For 38 Years | Hallelujah Health Tip

All due respect to the Rev. George Malkmus. Although I’m not of his religious beliefs and persuasion, it was his teachings and recommendations for barley grass powder and the vegan raw food diet (presently updated to whole food, plant-based diet)  that led me to healing of what was diagnosed as the beginning stages of lupus. I was able to go cold turkey off of all prescriptions and allergy shots just three months after starting this diet in January of 1997.  It’s over 17 years later and none of the symptoms have reappeared. I have remained prescription drug and allergy shot free and had no major illnesses and no colds or flu in over eight years, no flu shots. Folks, this is serious stuff. If you value your quality of life, please do some serious research into Dr. Malkmus’ site and view the Forks Over Knives DVD. Check out these links to others who have found this to be true in their own lives. I acknowledge that it’s not easy, but you’ll never regret giving it a try.

http://www.tedxfremont.com What food habits do all great civilizations have in common? John McDougall suggests that starch-based diets are the foods humans were born to eat. He has been studying, writing, and speaking out about the effects of nutrition on disease for over 40 years and is a bestselling author of several titles, including The Starch Solution.

Vegan diet

Just wanted you to know that I have started the first of three online modules from Cornell University featuring T. Colin Campbell and his lessons on whole-food, plant-based nutrition and they’re great. I hope to have my certificate of completion in the next 2-3 months. Not sure what I can do with it, but I am so passionate about this being an integral part of healing and health that I am compelled to learn whatever I can to seek more sure footing when I recommend this to others.

There’s a very strong argument for the Paleo diet which includes meat, dairy, and fat, but I would probably have to take a course in that to know as much as I already do, and I feel such confirmation that the whole-food, plant based diet is the best way to go for optimal health. I still highly recommend viewing Forks Over Knives. Thanks to Connie who first recommended it to me. I was a predominantly raw vegan advocate for many years, but this video widened my scope as to how to include a wider audience by including cooked, vegan foods. Plus, having Zoltan as my personal chef (thank you, Carol) since last December has shown me that this expanded diet, which includes many things I rejected previously over the past 15 years after converting to a predominantly vegan diet, seem to be agreeing with me quite well. (I would still recommend raw – preferably juicing – for anyone in the midst of a health crisis.)

I had my second annual LifeLine screening last Tuesday and my cholesterol was down. I’m waiting on the rest of the results, but they did say they didn’t see anything that warranted sending me to the hospital. I think I’ve been way overindulging in nut butters for a very long time, but that’s going to stop. Anyway, just saying … I’m your cheerleader if you’re thinking about trying a whole-food, plant-based diet.

Sincerely,

Cathy

How To Feel Better About Everything – Dr. Ben Kim

For most of the year 2000, I worked and lived at a fasting clinic in northern California where I spent time with many groups of eclectic guests from all over the world.

I often tell my wife that during that year, I felt like I was floating around in a bubble, almost immune to any downers that life brought my way. Sure, there were times when I felt a bit crummy, but most of the time, I was at peace, able to feel compassion for anyone.

The source of my deep well of harmony was a commitment that I made with myself to live with the following philosophy in mind:

All behaviour is motivated by love or by a need for love.
