Silence on Libya by Andrew P. Napolitano
The final presidential debate earlier this week was a tailor-made opportunity for Mitt Romney to rip into President Obama’s inconsistent, value-free and at times incoherent foreign policy. Thanks to their “safety net” these charges did not go through. I cancelled the card and was issued a new one. I have switched to my Amex and Discover cards since then, but just heard about this scam today on NPR. I have to wonder if this happened someplace where I used my debit card as I was using it almost exclusively to keep from accumulating charge card balances. I was in Drug Emporium a couple of days ago and they were announcing every five minutes that it would be necessary to use cash or a check as their debit card system was temporarily closed down. I’ll probably never find out where my card information was compromised – could just have easily been online – but a local merchant seems more likely.
