THE CDC IS AMERICA’S NEW LANDLORD
This is astonishing, even by 2020 standards.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, operating under the US Department of Health and Human Services, has asserted jurisdiction over private residential leases nationwide. It intends to curtail evictions until at least the end of the year, and in fact its new directive threatens federal criminal penalties against landlords who ignore tenant “declarations” made using CDC forms.
It is unclear, to put it mildly, exactly how this jurisdiction over private contracts and state/local courts flows even to Congress, much less an administrative agency acting on its own.
One federal official justifies the bizarre and legally dubious action based on the CDC’s broad charter to stop the spread of communicable diseases—a charter at which they’ve failed miserably with covid:
Congress has delegated broad authority to HHS, the Surgeon General and CDC, to take reasonable efforts to combat the spread of communicable diseases, and frankly I think it makes sense for those authorities abroad because we don’t know for any given situation or scenario what steps will be needed to stop the spread.
I think, in this particular order, the CDC has made a very compelling case that it is quite problematic at this particular time.
It’s focused on this particular pandemic, which is obviously the uniquely powerful grasp in the nation’s entire history in terms of the effect it’s had that for a bunch of reasons in particular, that the home has been sort of the focal point of people social distancing and building, sort of a safe space themselves over the past few months, and also the fact that if people get kicked out, they may end up in overcrowded congregated living facilities or homeless shelters, and that is a potential recipe for a big spread of COVID-19.
Thanks to the oft-criticized but in fact essential Zero Hedge for the nice bit of early and original reporting here—a full day before NPR, Bloomberg, et al.—and for details from a phone conference with CDC officials.
Again, this was announced without congressional input or approval and purely by administrative decree.
At least the eviction and mortgage moratoriums in the CARES Act, passed by Congress in March, were enacted by politicians who face voters this fall. And while those earlier moratoriums may well be constitutionally suspect too, at least in times of sanity, they were limited to federally backed rentals and mortgages.
The CDC’s new action is much broader, applying conceivably to all private residential leases across the country.
The fallout from suspending rental contracts will be deep and long lasting. Many landlords will find their situations untenable and stop making mortgage and property tax payments.
New rental housing stock will be depressed, as owners worry about the next suspension of rent payments now that the precedent has been set.
After all, why wouldn’t moratoriums happen again when the next pandemic or financial crisis hits? Rental housing units will drop in price as more landlords abandon the business—setting the stage for commercial and private equity buyers to grab units on the cheap from individuals and small owners.
Ultimately, foreclosures, evictions, and tax sales will happen no matter what the federal government does. The likely outcome is bigger players owning more and more of the rental housing stock, consolidating the permanent renter class and adding to the rootlessness many Americans feel.
Even the most modest home ownership creates skin in the game and encourages better neighborhoods, while areas dominated by rentals lack the same incentives for improvement. And the new owners of rental units will pass all the uncertainty, risks, and potential losses on to millions of Americans in the form of higher rents.
Even during the most turbulent periods in American history, including the Great Depression, World War II, and an 1880s tuberculosis outbreak which killed one in seven people, virtually no one expected the federal government to suspend rent.
This action by the CDC, in response to a very manageable and retreating cold virus, is the kind of quietly unprecedented development we’ve come to expect this year.
Watershed Moment in U.S. History
This is a watershed moment for the US: when you destroy trust in contract enforcement you create terrible ripple effects throughout society.
Something this radical should not be rushed into place with such little forethought, especially when it amounts to buying votes in a national election. But of course in a managerial state we should expect just this type of shortsighted political consideration to prevail over good sense and justice.
The CDC wants to effectively vitiate contracts: when you tell one party that it need not perform and the other that it cannot sue for nonperformance, you radically alter the bargaining power of those parties.
The contract they signed becomes nothing more than an aspirational document, a legislative (or administrative!) tool to be rewritten at the will of politicians.
The effects of this moratorium undoubtedly will spill over in unforeseen ways as Americans get used to the idea that their financial obligations can be erased by state edict.
The tremendous costs will be borne by all of us, because when contracts are not enforceable every transaction must account for much higher risks.

COVID-19 Fatality Rate “Worst Miscalculation” in Human History – PhD Student in Epidemiology

What Happened: Ronald B. Brown, Ph.D., from the School of Public health and Health Systems at the University of Waterloo, Canada, recently stated that the COVID-19 fatality rate is the “worst miscalculation in the history of humanity.” Brown is currently completing his second doctorate degree this time in epidemiology at the University of Waterloo.
Not long ago, Brown published a paper in Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness, titled “Public health lessons learned from biases in coronavirus mortality overestimation.”
In the paper he provides data and information he collected from his research, he compared informational texts from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to data from independent scientists and Congressional testimony. He states that “Results of this critical appraisal reveal information bias and selection bias in coronavirus mortality overestimation, most likely caused by misclassifying an influenza infection fatality rate as a case fatality rate.”
Below is a statement Brown recently gave to John C. A. Manley, a journalist who was the first to cover the story:
The subject of this article is disruptive, to say the least, although it is not as obvious from the title. The manuscript cites the smoking-gun, documented evidence showing that the public’s overreaction to the coronavirus pandemic was based on the worst miscalculation in the history of humanity, in my opinion. My manuscript underwent an intensive peer-review process. You are the first media guy who has responded to my invitation.
Dr. Brown added that CDC and WHO documents show that the case fatality rate for influenza was similar to the coronavirus, implying that the lockdowns were pointless. His paper questions why the 2017-2018 influenza season in the United States did not “receive the same intensive media coverage as COVID-19.”
He points out that “the accuracy of coronavirus tests rushed into production during the pandemic were unknown.” And he explores how the media began focusing on an increase in coronavirus cases while ignoring the decrease in death rates.
The Bulgarian Pathology Association has taken the stance that the testing used to identify the new coronavirus in patients is “scientifically meaningless.” They cite an article explaining the science. You can read more about that here.
Why This Is Important. Dr. Brown is not the only one raising these points, yet it seems nobody really knows these facts because they are constantly ignored by mainstream media, who is simply presenting us with one perspective that doesn’t seemed to be based on science and data at all in my opinion. It makes one wonder, what’s really going on here?
Why are deaths not a result of the coronavirus being marked as coronavirus deaths, even when it’s clear that that the coronavirus was not the cause? This has been observed across the globe.
A number of the world’s doctors and top experts in the field have been raising their concern with regards to the measures taken to combat the novel coronavirus. For example, Michael Levitt, a Biophysicist and a professor of structural biology at Stanford University recently criticized the WHO as well as Facebook for censoring different information and informed perspectives regarding the pandemic. More than 500 German doctors & scientists have signed on as representatives of an organization called the “Corona Extra-Parliamentary Inquiry Committee” to investigate what’s happening on our planet with regards to COVID-19, expressing the same sentiment. They came together to investigate the severity of the virus, and whether or not the actions taken by governments around the world, and in this case the German government, are justified and not causing more harm than good.

This group has been giving multiple conferences in Germany, in one of the most recent, Dr. Heiko Schöning, one of the organizations leaders, stated that “We have a lot of evidence that it (the new coronavirus) is a fake story all over the world.” To put it in context, he wasn’t referring to the virus being fake, but simply that it’s no more dangerous than the seasonal flu (or just as dangerous) and that there is no justification for the measures being taken to combat it. Another example would be a recent report published in the British Medical Journal has suggested that quarantine measures in the United Kingdom as a result of the new coronavirus may have already killed more UK seniors than the coronavirus has during the peak of the virus.
Reported case fatality rates, like the original official 3.4% rate from the World Health Organization, caused horror, panic and hysteria and were also meaningless.
Many scientists and doctors in North America are also expressing the same sentiments. For example, The Physicians For Informed Consent (PIC) recently published a report titled “Physicians for Informed Consent (PIC) Compares COVID-19 to Previous Seasonal and Pandemic Flu Periods.” According to them, the infection/fatality rate of COVID-19 is 0.26%. Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi, a specialist in microbiology and one of the most cited research scientists in German history is also part of Corona Extra-Parliamentary Inquiry Committee mentioned above and has also expressed the same thing, multiple times early on in the pandemic all the way up to today.
Implementation of the current draconian measures that are so extremely restrict fundamental rights can only be justified if there is reason to fear that a truly, exceptionally dangerous virus is threatening us. John P. A. Ioannidis, a professor of medicine and epidemiology at Stanford University has said that the infection fatality rate “is close to 0 percent” for people under the age of 45 years old. He and several other academics from the Stanford School of Medicine suggest that COVID-19 has a similar infection fatality rate as seasonal influenza, and published their reasoning in a study last month. This list goes on, and on, and on, and on..So why don’t we hear anything about it? Why are scientists, doctors and experts being heavily censored for sharing this information? Why are media outlets like us being punished and demonetized for writing about it? What’s going on here? Is there another agenda at play? Is NSA Whistleblower Edward Snowden right about the fact that governments are using this pandemic to place more measures upon the population that take away our rights, all under the guise of good will? Why haven’t these measures been taken for other respiratory viruses that infect just as many, and kill just as many people and more than Covid-19 every single year?
These are important questions to ask and have a discussion around, especially when our right to even speak is slowly being taken away.
Facebook fact-checkers have made it quite clear that any information that does not come from the WHO or federal health regulatory agencies should not be considered as reliable.
The Takeaway
Why is there so much information being shared that completely contradicts the narrative of our federal health regulatory agencies and organizations like the WHO? Is there a battle for our perception happening right now? Is our consciousness being manipulated? Why is there so much conflicting information if everything is crystal clear? Why are alternative treatments that have shown tremendous amounts of success being completely ignored and ridiculed? What’s going on here, and how much power do governments have when they are able to silence the voice of so many people? Should we not be examining information openly, transparently, and together?
Is the new coronavirus, like 9/11, a catalyst for a shift in human consciousness. Are people ‘waking up’ as a result of what has, is and will transpire?

With Großer Stern Square and the Siegesäule Monument as a backdrop, Mr. Kennedy talked about government control by fear and spoke out against totalitarianism. He said the government and those with the greatest wealth and control have done a terrible job on public health and will shift us all to 5G and a cashless society. | Can you clarify a few things about asymptomatic people? We are told that we must wear masks and incessant testing is necessary in order to find those who are positive but asymptomatic in order to avoid spreading the disease. The Centers for Disease Control just changed its stance concerning asymptomatic people, stating that people without symptoms do not need to be tested. This policy even applies to individuals who have been in close contact with an infected individual.[1] This policy is more in alignment with studies showing that “asymptomatic carriers” are not likely to infect others.[2] Why aren’t more doctors and health professional speaking out about this hoax? The biggest reason is fear of retaliation. Dr. Simone Gold organized the America’s Frontline Doctors event in Washington D.C. Following this event, she was terminated from her job. Many of the other doctors who participated reported that they were investigated by state medical boards after prescribing hydroxychloroquine to COVID-19 patients. These actions are taken deliberately to discourage others from speaking out. Unfortunately this strategy works. I’m concerned about the upcoming COVID-19 vaccine and do not want to be forced to get it. What if my employer makes this a condition of employment? There are a few options for preventing this from happening. If enough employees refuse to receive the vaccine and threaten to quit and immediately walk out, an employer would have to change the policy. As an employer, I can say with assurance that if even five of our associates demanded something as a condition for continuing to work I would have to agree to it, at least in the short-term, because there would be no way to continue to operate our business with five people missing. Of course, they could be replaced over time, but if threatened with immediate refusal to work, I’d have to concede. The second option is to file a lawsuit, and I imagine there will be many filed if employers decide to mandate the vaccine. There is a high likelihood that if these lawsuits are filed by capable attorneys, an injunction might be granted while the lawsuit proceeds through the court system. The third option is to contact your state representatives and senators and demand that legislation be passed to prevent employers from making vaccines a condition of employment. This is why it is so important to join Make Americans Free Again – our goal is to be able to help you to do this by gathering a massive voter base that can be sorted by state districts. Then we can vote out and/or pressure elected officials to pass laws that support vaccine choice. What recourse does a family have concerning visitation in nursing homes for those residents who have been isolated for months? Most states are still either forbidding visits from family and friends or have set ridiculous rules (only outside; requirement to wear masks; six feet of distance which makes communication difficult; and so on) that make visits impractical. The nursing homes are like many other businesses – they must follow the governor’s orders or they can lose their license to operate. The strategies for resolving this and other egregious violations of rights are lawsuits, massive civil disobedience, and voting people out of office who support these punitive policies. In many states, legislatures can pass bills to limit the governor’s powers but refuse to do so. At this point – 150 days past “flatten the curve” – 100% of all state legislators should be on board to reign in the governor of their state. Sadly, this is not the case in most states. GET RID OF THESE PEOPLE!! VOTE THEM OUT!! This does not provide immediate relief, but it should be apparent to everyone which elected officials are and are not responsive to the plight of citizens. Elected officials who refuse to take specific actions to make things better are just as culpable and responsible as their governors for the consequences of these policies. My family is overdue for dental visits to have teeth cleaned and regular checkups, and our providers are requiring masks, temperature taking, and even COVID-19 tests. What should we do? You may be able to find a solo practitioner who is not associated with a large practice or medical institution who is not insisting on such silly rules. Ask around – the underground mask-less economy is alive and well in most areas. if not, you may decide to postpone these activities for just a bit. Being a few weeks late to have your teeth cleaned is not life-threatening. And if no one sick, a doctor’s visit may not be very important right now. Individuals must all make their own decisions about this, but personally I will not go anywhere or get services from anyone who demands all of this nonsense unless I’m almost dead and even then I would think twice before agreeing to any of it. Some doctors and researchers are claiming that the virus has never been purified or seen under a microscope and that means that a virus is not causing anyone’s illness, and the tests are useless. It’s important for people to know this. This may be true. Most thinking people are aware by now that there are problems with the tests, and some state auditors are investigating. Ohio’s Auditor Keith Faber has set up a website for people to report incidents such as not showing up for a test and yet being notified by mail of a positive result. However, I advise everyone to remain focused on freeing ourselves from tyranny FIRST. Free people have the luxury of looking into issues like this, and then seeing that perpetrators are punished. If the despots win, they will be punishing those of us who are dissenters. I’m a very public dissenter, and this is a risk I’ve chosen to take, but I won’t be distracted from our main goal right now: MAKE AMERICANS FREE AGAIN! We can investigate lots of things after we are free. I think this situation may be hopeless at this point. Don’t you get discouraged? The situation is not hopeless, and I am not discouraged. I do understand that we have a limited amount of time in which to take our country back and overthrow the despots who have taken control of our lives. This requires careful allocation of resources, massive mobilization of people, and targeted lawsuits. We are on it!
