| “Whoever recites this mantra becomes absolutely divine, God in action… This mantra increases the pranic energy. There is no better healing than this.”
– Yogi Bhajan – |
| Pavan – the Divine breath. Pavan Guru – Breath is the Guru . . the teacher. . .that which brings us from darkness to light. This soothing mantra – also called the Pran Bandha Mantra – is the carrier of prana or life force.
In our daily existence, our resiliency – our ability to respond and rebound from stressful experiences and emotions – is constantly tested. During challenging times, we have two choices. We can choose to become very attached to our finite identity and to what is happening around us that we don’t like. The wheels start spinning. Our breath becomes shallow. Our prana decreases. We get caught in a cycle that doesn’t serve us. If, instead, we are able to get out of our own way, we have the ability to support our experience through the use of mantra. In this case, Pavan Guru opens the door to another dimension of the Self. It unites us with the unlimited sea of prana and life, with creativity and fearlessness. |
